I learned of Les Calamités from Rodney on the Roq in LA decades ago. I don't recall him ever playing this song, which is a shame because it's better than their covers.

This is the song I thought should have been a single release, but never was. They never got the follow up hit to 'Shape of things to come'. I saw them live and they crossed the power pop, new wave and rock genres. One great hit that lives on.. and I'll always love this very appropriately titled song with that catchy chorus and keyboard hook.

Great band from West Yorkshire. Hoping that, if they shared dressing room with The Pretenders, it was a Just Frank band member asking " is there any brass in't pocket of them kecks?" On hearing this Chrissie Hynde went a wrote a song..... Andy Healey top guitarist played in Stabledice with ace drummer Stewart Westmoreland and front man vocalist Percy. Poptastic!

Saw 'em in 1980. I just turned 15. My first live gig ever. They were playing at an amusement park in SoCal. A Van Halen rip off band opened for them. It drives me a little crazy to this day I can't quite recall the name of THAT band. They were decent but not memorable. Guitarist was fine but no EVH. 20/20? They ripped it up really good. A very stoned college age girl was hanging on me from behind, her....um...ample chest bouncing against my back. To think...my first time feeling "those" and it was like THAT lol. All I know is she kept screaming "Yellow Pills! PLAY YELLOW PILLS!" I tell 'ya...I didn't hear the song much after that gig if at all. But I never forgot it. Especially the chorus. Good times, good gig, I suppose. This first of what became too many to count.

Such a shame this band didn’t make it big, they were right in line with the new Wave explosion and great for New Orleans. Same for the Back Beats which featured the Cold’s bassist Vance Degeneres.

I Liked Jim, (the drummer), a lot. He was very encouraging to me. I could very barely play in the Crewsy Fixers, a band big on bravado but hilariously incompetent and fun.
